Establishment and services of Regional Fire Management Resource Centers

GFMC Tool 6

The Global Fire Monitoring Center provides regional centers of excellence for States who do not have the capacity to meet international obligations or commitments in wildland fire prevention and response. These centers are designed to support the countries at the science-policy interface, at capacity building and at advisory support. The centers also serve as secretariats of the Regional Wildland Fire Networks and support transboundary cooperation in fire management.
